FJAD is a national feminist and women’s organization headquartered in Parakou in northern Benin. Our actions are inspired by feminist approaches that recognize and challenge gender inequalities. We adopt an intersectional perspective, taking into account the different dimensions of identity and oppression. We challenge gender norms and stereotypes, encouraging a collective questioning of the norms established by the Gender Transformative Approach (GTA). We also promote solidarity and sisterhood among women, creating spaces for support and exchange. We encourage feminist research. Our feminist approach aims to create an environment conducive to gender equality and the promotion of the rights of women and girls at all levels.
