Approximately one-third (33%) of respondents reporting being approached in 2022 by a buyer about selling their firms. Similarly, a third have approached other wealth managers in 2022 about acquiring their firms and/or book of business. Those with RIAs & Dually Registered firms are somewhat more likely to report having expressed interest in making an acquisition. Four in ten respondents with RIA & Dually Registered firms, and half of those from All Remaining firms reported their firms executed a transaction in 2022 – with the acquisition of an advisor, or “tuck in” leading.
